THE LACRIMAE ENSEMBLE fulfilled recorder player Ronald Moelker's desire to create his own baroque ensemble with musicians specialised in the performance of early music on historical instruments.
The first performance took place while touring with the English soprano Catherine Bott for the Early Music Network (NL) in 1993. Since then the ensemble has made several recordings for both radio and CD. It also found its way to the concert stage with a wide range of programmes from the renaissance and baroque periods.
